The Deputy General Secretary for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Boamah Otokunor, has expressed his anger about the Electoral Commission (EC) accusing them of causing financial law to the state by compiling new voters register.
According to him, the EC has made a decision not to pay attention to Ghanaians but rather Nana Addo Dankwa and his party.
Mr Otukunor said the old biometric equipment is genuine and can be used for the 2020 general election without any hindrance.
The EC has recently used the old machine to registered about 1.2 million people in the whole country and the same machines were used during the District level election.
Adding, he said the main reason why the EC want to compile the new voter’s register is that she wants to purchase new biometric equipment just to waste the country money.
“The EC wants to mislead the country by doing the new voters register instead of updating his windows from windows 7 to windows 10.”
He however said, the EC should know that Ghana is a democratic state and no one can infringe on someone’s right.
On Monday’s edition of Dadi Fm morning show “Efa Wo Ho” with host Abena Opokua Ahwenie, Mr Otukunor said Inter party resistant against new voters register has verified the falseness of what the EC has said about the manufactured companies which produce biometric machines.
“The EC has disgraced the country by causing allegation on the companies that produce biometric machines”, he revealed.
The EC should come out and reply us on the allegation about Inter-party resistant against new voters register and companies who produces biometric machines.
“ The NPP cannot teach us how to resist new voters register. The compilation of new voters register will never take place in the country whether the NPP like or not” he prophesied.
