In contrast to the opposition NDC, energy minister Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh believes that Ghanaians have a better opportunity with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He listed the government’s worries, including the depreciation of the Ghana cedi in relation to the US dollar, but claimed that things would have been worse if another political party had been in charge of the country’s economy.
According to NAPO, if the NDC had been in power, the cedi, which fell to an all-time low, would have reached Ghs48 to the dollar.
“NPP’s worst is better than NDC’s greatest. Some of you are inspired to serve NPP; you want to do your best.
“Only NPP can improve Ghana. Imagine how much worse it would be if it were NDC. If NDC was in power, the dollar would have reached 48, he remarked.
He urged the young patriots to stick with the party and administration despite the hardships and to avoid infighting, anger, and acrimony, which might hinder the party’s capacity to break the 8.
“No TESCON member should doubt 2024. Better to be the governing party’s gardener than the opposition’s landlord, he said.
