Three Persons are reported dead whilst 23 are seriously injured in a fatal accident at Teacher Mante near Nsawam on the Accra to Kumasi Highways.
The accident which involved Articulated Truck and Passenger Bus occurred Saturday dawn around 2:00am
The injured persons have been rushed Suhum and Nsawam Government Hospitals. Bodies of the deceased have also been deposited at the morgue.
The Ayensuano District Director of the National Disaster Management Organization Joseph Okai Djan who is part of rescuers at the scene explained that the Articulated Truck with registration number AE 1913 -12 from Kumasi direction to Accra crashed the side of the Bus with registration number GT 5425-20 from the opposite direction.
He said the Bus somersaulted and landed at the roadside.
According to him, it is highly suspected that one of the accident vehicles was overtaking hence the accident.
He said the accident has since created heavy vehicular traffic efforts were Underway in collaboration with the Police to tow away the articulated truck which has blocked the road.
