Prof. Theophilus Adjei-Kumi is the newly installed Nkosuohene (Development chief) of Akyem Manso traditional area with a stool name Nana Prof. Adjei-Kumi I in Asene-Manso-Akroso District of the Eastern Region.
Nana Prof. Adjei-Kumi, who is 55-year-old is the Head of Department of Construction Technology and Management at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
As a member of the Akyem Manso Development Union, Nana Adjei-Kumi I contributed to the union and has resulted in social amenities for the Manso community.
The union came out with many projects including provision of street lights, potable water for the Atweaman Senior High School with some part of the community and donation of essential medical equipment to the local health centre.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nana Prof. Adjei-Kumi I called for unity, support and cooperation among the people of the Manso community to help bring development in the area.
He pledged to unite with the traditional rulers to mobilize both human and material resources to improve the community.
Obrempong Sintim Poku III, the Benkumhene of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, who doubles as a Chief of Akyem Manso, cautioned chiefs not to lord their powers over their subjects, but instead seek their counsel in decision-making in order to sustain their confidence.
Obrempong Sintim Poku III urged the sub-chiefs to come out with developmental initiatives to accelerate the growth in the communities.
Some people of the Manso community expressed their gratitude to the traditional leaders for installing Prof. Theophilus Adjei-Kumi as a Nkosuohene for their community.
They pleaded to Nana Adjei-Kumi I to initiate reconstruction the poor road to the community for them.
