Speaking at the Inter-governmental summit to improve learning outcomes at Freetown Sierra Leone, Education minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum highlighted the great progress Ghana is making in education transformation.
He mentioned some of the interventions the Education Ministry has introduced to enhance learning outcomes in Ghana.
“Some of the notable ones include free feeding for school children, Free SHS/TVET, gender parity at the primary and secondary levels among others”.
“This government believes that finances should not be the reason why any child will end his or her educational journey after JHS hence the introduction of Free SHS and TVET” he stressed.
The minister further charged various stakeholders to not make education just accessible but to also look at its quality and relevance.
He assured “Moving forward, we have to prioritize education at all levels by creating a pipeline of transformation from pre-school through to university to be able to compete with the rest of the world”.
