Management of Ho Technical University, HTU, has announced that it is revising the academic calendar as a result of temporal closure of the University in adherence to the directive by government.
A statement issued Monday, March 16, 2020, under the signature of the Registrar Dr. C. K Amehor, stated among other things that “a revised academic calendar shall be approved and communicated to the University in due course”.
The statement further stated that” resident students are to vacate their halls latest by Tuesday, March 17, 2020 after signing out and handing over their keys to the porters “.
Ghana has recorded six cases of the coronavirus within a week with about 170 contacts tracing and testing ongoing.
As a result, Ghana’s President after an emergency stakeholder meeting on Sunday, March 15, announced the suspension of all public gatherings including conferences, funerals, and church activities for four weeks.
Also, all Universities, schools, etc. have been closed from March 16, 2020.
The government also emphasized that travel bans announced still in force.
Ministry of transport to work with transport operators to enhance hygiene.
Supermarkets, malls, etc must ensure the highest standards of personal hygiene.
Again, the Ministry of Local Government must liaise with relevant authorities to improve hygiene standards in our markets.
The Presidents instructed the Attorney General and Minister for Health to fast track processes to ensure legislative processes are implemented to back directives.
