The Minister for Transport, Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah has led a technical delegation from Ghana to the State of Sao Tome and Principe.
The delegation was there to engage authorities there in bilateral discussions on the provision of air navigation services within the Accra Flight Information Region (FIR), renew existing Memorandum of Understanding.
It was also to apprise on the state of equipment at the host country with a view to ensuring continuous provision of safe and efficient air navigation services.
The State of Sao Tome and Principe is host to some of the ground-based navigational infrastructure of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority.
It supports the provision of safe and efficient air navigation services within the Accra FIR consisting of the continental airspace over Ghana and greater portion of the Atlantic Ocean beyond Twelve (12) nautical miles of the coastlines of Togo and Benin to Latitude Nine (9) degrees south of the Equator.
