Chief Executive Officer for the Ghana Library Authority, Mr. Hayford Siaw has called for the need to recognise the immense potential for innovation and technology to contribute to gender equality.
Commending women for their role in national development, the CEO indicated that women have historically been underrepresented in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), but with advancement in digital technology, this is changing rapidly.
Mr. Hayford Siaw therefore said women of today can leverage technology to gain access to better education and training to acquire the necessary skills to thrive in the STEM fields.

On this International Women’s Day, it is important to recognize the immense potential for innovation and technology to contribute to gender equality. Women have historically been underrepresented in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), but with advancement in digital technology, this is changing rapidly.
Women today can leverage technology to gain access to better education and training to acquire the necessary skills to thrive in the STEM fields. It is important for women to embrace and utilize technology to advance their careers and break down barriers.
Women in innovation and technology can create digital solutions that advance women’s economic, social and political roles. Society has much to gain when gender equality is realized.
So let us encourage and support women in technology and innovation so that we can create a more equitable and empowered society for all.
