The Winneba Fire Station received a distress call reporting an outbreak of fire at 1620 hours at Yeenua on the water works road in the Effutu Municipality of the Central Region.
The crew, on arrival at the scene at 1634 hours, observed that residents had successfully extinguished the fire using buckets of sand and other extinguishing media they could lay their hands on.
The crew then gathered the residents and offered indepth tutorials on the preventive methods of fire as preliminary investigations revealed leakage of gas coming into contact with naked flame as the cause of fire.
Items damaged include: plastic bowls, the cylinder regulator, and the tube.
There were no casualties.
