Security personnel at the Eastern Regional hospital in Koforidua have arrested a taxi driver suspected to be part of thieves that steal from the hospital.
The suspect (name withheld ) lives at Two Streams a suburb of Koforidua.
He was arrested by the security personnel with the help of a CCTV and National Security camera.
“We were able to catch the tax driver that came in. We used the security camera outside.We showed them the movement and national security used the camera outside to trace the car number and they caught the driver around commercial bank near total 2. He said he took the item but took it to taxi station for someone but we believe that there is more to” a top security officer at the hospital said .
Thieves have been invading the hospital mostly at night to steal valuable items of staff and patience.
Many mobile phones ,laptops ,monies are mostly stolen from the hospital.
This compelled hospital authorities to install CCTV cameras in strategic parts of the hospital however
