On behalf of the Lands and Natural Resources Minister, deputy minister George Mireku Duker received a delegation from Ansong Askew Limited, a UK-based mineral resources management and consortium company.
Mr James Askew, Managing Partner of Ansong Askew Ltd detailed the purpose of their visit, indicating the support which his outfit could provide to Ghana’s mining industry such as areas in value addition and the application of mercury-free processing methods.
The deputy minister exhorted their minds to the fact that the government has already set the ball rolling about value addition and the promotion of mercury-free mining methods.
However, he assured them of the openness of the government to welcome any idea, technology and interventions that seek to advocate Government’s policy of streamlining the small-scale sector.
“The government is committed to building an enviable mining industry and together, we will deliver” Mireku Duker stressed.
