The Motorway District and Ashaiman Municipal Commands of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Tema Region jointly embarked on vehicular fire extinguisher inspection and awareness creation exercise as part of the strategic measures being put in place to reduce the extent of fire damage on our roads.
The exercise which is in accordance with the Road Traffic Act 683, and Ghana National Fire Service Act 537 took place at the Motorway Toll booth Plaza and the Ashaiman China Mall enclave between the hours of 0830 hours and 1100 hours.
The exercise was dubbed “operation functional fire extinguishers for all vehicles” in Ashaiman.
The exercise was purposely aimed to inspect and educate motorists on the need and use of appropriate functional fire extinguishers.
Commander of Motorway and Ashaiman Fire Stations, DOII R. Vanderpuye and DOIII E. Yenzu and DOIII E. Yenzu were present during the exercise.
