The Former Eastern Regional Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mark Oliver Kevor have said National Identification Authority needs to suspend Ghana Card Registration exercise due to the Pandemic disease that is prevalent over a whole world.
According to him, his Excellency Nana Addo has banned all public gatherings including conferences, workshops, funerals, festivals, political rallies, sporting events and religious events such as services in churches and mosques.
Many people were delayed to register in their various regions and as Eastern region has become the last region, all those who couldn’t register in their regions have come to register in the eastern region which can lead to the spreading of the virus.
Mr Mark Oliver Kevor who doubles as a board member of the National Communications Authority aside his political affiliation said, the National Identification Authority should fellow directives ordered by the government as part of measures to stop the spread of coronavirus in the country.
He added that the majority of people have died in Italy due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and the same thing can happen to Ghanaians.
On Friday’s edition of Dadi Fm morning show “Efa Wo Ho” with host Abena Opokua Ahwenee, Mr Mark Oliver Kevor said NIA should not joke with human lives because the country is in a dangerous situation.
Ghana is recording high cases of coronavirus and I don’t understand the reason why NIA continues to Ghana card registration exercise, he averred.
The outbreak case has risen to 16.
