The Electoral Commission will hold a by-election to elect a new member of parliament for Kumawu in the Ashanti Region on May 23.
The EC which made this known in a press statement issued on Monday, April 17, and signed by its chairperson, Mrs Jean Mensa, said the by-election will be conducted in accordance with Article 112 (5) of the Constitution.
The by-election has become necessary due to the demise of the former lawmaker, Philip Basoah few weeks ago.
