Energy minister, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh met the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA).
The meeting, convened at my instance, was to discuss specifically, the challenges the union have with the nineteen (19) regulations passed by Parliament at the behest of the Energy Commission to regulate the markets for electrical appliances and renewable energy products.
Whilst these regulations, are to, among others, protect the consumer from unsuitable appliances and the consequent payment of high electricity bills, the minister believe these further engagements with importers of appliances affected by these regulations are critical towards ensuring a win-win situation for both government and traders on this important matter.
