The Ghanaian Language Department of Pentecost Preparatory School in Koforidua in Eastern region has organized second cultural day program with exhibition of traditional dresses and dishes to instill culture and traditions among school pupils.
Pupils , teaching and non-teaching staff ,parents adorned in traditional dresses according to their ethnic groups, prepared traditional foods ,danced and spoke in their various local languages.
Parents were thrilled with nostalgic colourful display of culture and traditions by the enthusiastic pupils.

Amittey said the program is targeted at exposing the pupils to culture and traditions.
He urged parents teach their children their local languages.
According to him, research show that any child who is able to speak his local language which (L1) does well academically learning the (L2).
The Special Guest Speaker of Honour Elder Richard Amaning ,PENTSOS Director of The Church of Pentecost called on parents to regularly send their children to their hometowns to observe festivals and learn cultures and traditions.
Elder Amaning also urged parents to ensure their children eat local foods ,fruits and vegetables instead of processed foods.
Nana Pemampem Poku-Prempeh a chief at Adansi Fomena ,also Manager of Total -One filling station in Koforidua who was chairman for the occasion told Pent TV, tradition and culture are never idol worshiping therefore parents must teach their children to know their root and identity.
Participants of the program visited traditional Exhibition stands where traditional products were displayed to round up the event.
