The next tranche of Ghana Maritime Authority’s 2023 safety sensitization programme is ongoing.
This time, it involves load line marking to prevent overloading of all boats plying the Volta Lake, to improve safety of navigation.
At Dambai, the team was welcomed by the Overlord of Chonki traditional area, Dr. Dasebre Atamafowiesi Kwame Bonja II who endorsed these steps aimed at eradicating boat disasters on the Lake.
The GMA project team, led by Ing. Appiah-Opong and Captain Darlington Akrofi, is expected to visit many other communities along the Volta Lake.
