The Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP), Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu, engaged the Regional Coordinators of the Ghana School Feeding Program (GSFP) following a fruitful engagement with the Leadership of Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) caterers.
The purpose of the meeting, among other things, was to discuss and brainstorm on how the coordinators can effectively monitor activities of caterers in their regions.
It was also to discuss best cooking practices to ensure that nutritional meals are served to beneficiaries of the programme.
Additionally, it was also to address some logistical challenges they face on a regular basis.
During the engagement, the Minister urged coordinators to constantly monitor activities of caterers within their jurisdiction so as to ensure they adhere to the cooking guidelines and standards of GSFP.
According to Hon. Lariba Abudu, education is at the heart of government priorities which explains the massive investments in the educational sector which includes the school feeding thus strengthening the foundation of future generations.
The Minister reaffirm government’s commitment to ensuring that the allowance of caterers are paid promptly.
Present at the meeting were the Deputy Minister, Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah, Chief Director, Dr. Afisah Zakariah, National Coordinator of the GSFP, Dr. Gertrude Quarshigah and some Management Heads of GSFP.
