Executive Director for Centre for Decentralisation and Local Governance, Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh on Tuesday addressed the National Conference of Presiding Members organised in Tamale.
Having been a Presiding Member of a District Assembly at a point in time, in my remarks, Mr. Agyemang-Prempeh appreciated their crucial roles in national development and also shared in their concerns and challenges.
As the President of NALAG and Director-General of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), he was highly enthused about the theme of the conference: “The Role of Local Authorities in Ensuring Public Safety: The Business for All”.
He used the opportunity to charge the Honorable Presiding Members to take leadership as we work together in this fight, for together we will build a disaster-resilient nation, yes a safer nation.
“My profound appreciation also goes to the Presiding Members Conference for the citation of honor presented to me in recognition of my efforts towards the group and local governance as a whole” he added.
Present for the occasion was Hon. Joe Osei Wusu , MP for Bekwai and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur , Head of Local Government Service.
