North Tongu lawmaker Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has described Ghana’s economic challenge as a result of wasteful leadership manifested classically by the creation of the world’s most expensive cathedral hole at US$58.1million.
The outspoken MP indicated that PIAC Report revealed that total petroleum revenue in 2022 is the highest for a single year since inception of petroleum production in Ghana with a figure of US$1.43 billion.
He wrote:
According to the 2022 PIAC Report submitted to Parliament a few days ago: “Total petroleum revenue in 2022 is the highest for a single year since inception of petroleum production in Ghana with a figure of US$1.43 billion.”
US$1.43billion in just one year is more than what we expect from the IMF in a year.
President Akufo-Addo is therefore the luckiest president since commercial oil production started in 2010.
Ghana’s problem isn’t poor revenue mobilization but bad and wasteful leadership manifested classically by the creation of the world’s most expensive cathedral hole at US$58.1million, and squandering millions in a needless, witch-hunt Assin North by-election.
God help us rescue this nation.
