Members of the Gas Tanker Drivers Association have threatened industrial strike against it leadership over alleged abuse of power.
The Gas Tanker Drivers in a press conference today in Tema alleged that there have not been any elections for the past eleven (11) years since the establishment of the association which is contrary to the constitution of their Association.
Meanwhile, Article 3 of the Gas Tanker Drivers Association By-laws says there shall be an election every four (4) years to elect its executives and eligible leaders.
The interim leaders since 2012 have refused to pave way for conduction of elections and account to its members as to where their monies are being held or saved.
The Tanker Drivers added that they pay a daily tickets since the establishment of the association but there is no accountability to them.
They are therefore calling on TUC, Labor commission and the Industrial and Commercial Workers’ Union (ICU) to intervene.
