Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has reiterated at the on-going UK-Africa Ministerial Roadshow on Decarbonization that Ghana’s energy transition framework implementation will lead to the creation of over 1.4 million new jobs.
He stressed that Ghana requires partnerships from the private sector through strategic investment to develop clean energy resources and the associated infrastructure.
The framework according to the Minister focuses on green manufacturing and introduction of new technologies such as carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), nuclear power, hydrogen gas for transportation and electricity generation, e-mobility, charging infrastructure, clean cooking stoves, energy storage, solar PV module production, wind turbines, hydropower development, among others.
