Sefwi Akontombra Hospital has been commissioned by his excellency the vice president of the republic of Ghana, Dr. Alhaji Mamud Bawumia.
He was acompanied by Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu who is the Health minister and MP for Dorma Central.
MPs, MMDCE, regional Health directarate, Nananom, religious leaders, regional Executives, comminicaters, polling station executives and security agencies in the region were all present for the commissioning of the hospital.
The Vice President when commisioning the Hospital stated that, Bodi, Suaman and Bia East projects are all ongoing.
He stressed that they are estimated to complete fourty to fourty five hospitals including Akontombra Hospital when he was intervied by the media.
The Omanhene of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional concil, Okatakyie Kwasi Bumakama was not able to come but he was represented by Nana Eluo Panin, who is the chief of Nzuozua and Kyidomhene of Sefwi Wiawso traditional area.
He advised the people at Akontombra and health workers to practice the habit of maintenance culture and also applauded the health medical superintendents in the region and appeals to the health minister to award them for their hard work doing and after the covid 19 era.
The chief of Akontombra Nana Okukudrufo Kwabena Ebin I his remarks also appealled to the Vice President to help them with permanent mortuary for preservation of dead bodies and aid to give apointment letters to voluntary health workers who are working in the hospital.
He also appealed to authorities to come and fix their deplorable road network for them.
Finally the MP for Akontombra District, Hon. sompahene Aex Tetteh denied accusations of picketing monies meant for the development of the area.
