The Customs Staff Association of the Ghana Revenue Association has donated medical beds, mattresses and other supplies worth Thousands of Ghana Cedis to Eastern Regional Hospital and Koforidua Poly Clinic.
The items include 10 hospital hydraulic beds,10 hospital mattresses, 10 pieces of bedside racks, 3 pieces of medical Institution tables, 2 examination tables ,3 pieces of medical casenote carts, 10 pieces of hospital mediflex mattresses ,and 4 pieces of delivery bed mattresses.
The donation was done as part of the the 2nd National Delegates Congress of Customs Staff Association held in Koforidua.
Presenting the items in a short ceremony at the Regional Hospital, the immediate past chairman of the Association Ebenezer Bob Eshun said the association donates to institutions and organizations wherever they hold their congress as part of its corporate social responsibilities, therefore being the turn of Eastern region leadership of the association decided to donate the medical equipment and supplies to the two health facilities to improve quality healthcare.
Medical Director of Eastern Regional Hospital,Dr.Akoto Ampaw commended the association for the intervention.
According to him, many of the patients bed and mattresses are the hospital are old and worn-out therefore required to be replaced.
Present at the donation were Commissioner,Customs Division ,Alhaji Seidu Iddrisu, other senior staff of customs as well as Administrative staff and medical doctors at Eastern regional hospital.
