The Acting President of Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Bessa Simons has called on MUSIGA members in Ghana to vote for him to become the new President of the association in the upcoming MUSIGA election.
Speaking in an interview during a campaign visit to the Eastern region to share his vision, Mr. Bessa Simons reiterated his commitment to revive the music industry through numerous interventions and policies geared towards the welfare of it members.
The Musician kum Sound Engineer noted some key interventions and policies he intends to bring on board when voted as the next MUSIGA President.
He clarified by saying “under my tenure we will make sure that MUSIGA goes fully digital and all our members benefit from the new digital platforms or portal and we will educate them on how to upload their songs on these digital stores 8 that they also take in the needed benefits in their accounts”.
“Through the digital portals members will be able to interact with the about 123 musicians unions across the world and collaborate with them”
“This time we will support the upcoming musicians through music education , capacity building , series of orientations , Decentralization of MUSIGA programs to other regions apart from Greater Accra to strengthen the other regions and districts as well as to ensure that the welfare of all our members are properly structured” he said.
He further promised that as the next President of MUSIGA his outfit will ensure that the substantive executive will be oriented on how to serve the members to also benefit from the numerous opportunities in the music industry.
Reacting to the recent court issues involving himself , the treasurer for MUSIGA Kofi Agyemang and the Account clark relating to a forge signature , Mr Bessa Simons emphasized that the court ruled on his favour stating that they as the accused persons have not engage in such act and have no criminal record therefore the complainant should not be trusted.
He said “the court ruled that we don’t have any criminal record but rather the complainant should not be trusted therefore the plea by the complainant that we should step down for the election was also dismissed by the court”
“The court of arbitration has made a determination that the election should be held and so we’ve ensured that the elections committee are fully in charge to ensure the elections come on as it was scheduled” Bessa Simons clarified the court issues.
