Some female students of Asamankese Senior High School have made damning sexual harassment allegations against ten(10) teachers in the school.
The allegations were made by the female students after headmaster of the school Benjamin Okai administered questioneires to the students to fetch information about rumours that some teachers have been making sexual advancement on some of the female students.
The questioneires were administered during a mock examination by the final year students.
The ten(10) teachers indicted by the students were referred to a committee established by management to conduct further investigations.
However, the students who made the allegations failed to provide further information and evidences to back their claims when called before the committee.
Nonetheless, Headmaster of the School Benjamin Okai went ahead to relieve the said teachers off their positions.
Those who were occupying bungalows in the school were also ejected.
Asamankese Senior High School is undergoing serious transformation to enhance the academic performance of the school.
The decision to protect female students from sexual and gender based abuses is one of the policy interventions of management to provide convenient learning environment for students.
The school recorded impressive performance in 2022 WASSCE as a result of various academic interventions including effective supervision and monitoring of teachers.
The headmaster of the school Benjamin Okai is said to have transferred some teachers tagged lazy and had brought in competent and subject specialist teachers.
The improving academic performance of the school manifested in recent National Science and Maths Quiz competition which saw the school qualified to the national stage for the first.
