A 24-year-old Labourer, Moses Boahen has been sentenced to five-year imprisonment by the Asamankese Circuit Court for stealing 49 bunches of Palm fruits valued at ¢300.00.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared before His Honour Abass Abubakari.
According to a prosecution statement presented by Detective Chief Inspector Owusu Achiaw, the Palm fruit is a property of Ghana Oil Palm Development Company in Kwae in the Kwaebibirem Area.
Recently, the same accused person was sentenced to five years imprisonment by the same Court for stealing a mobile phone, a property of a security officer at the place where he stole the palm fruits.
The incident occurred on 15th January 2020 at about 2:30pm and one of his accomplices was recently jailed while one other is at large.
In a related Development; One Emmanuel Ganyo, a 26-year-old farmer has also been sentenced to six months imprisonment for stealing 44 bunches of Palm Fruits.
The prosecution said on 23/03/2020, the complainant went to his farm at Tokurom on Asuom Stool Land and detected that his Palm Fruits worth ¢250.00 has been Stolen.
