Second Lady Samira Bawumia delivered the Keynote Address at the High-Level Dialogue on “Women and Girls Leading Climate Action” on Monday.
It was as part of the inaugural Africa Climate Summit/week hosted by the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Kenya, starting Monday, September 4, to Friday, September 8.
The Second Lady highlighted the key roles women and girls play in the climate change conversation, and proposed solutions and changes needed to alter the status quo.
She stated that climate change, health, women’s empowerment, girl child education, and community well-being are interconnected threads of our narrative and must be addressed with a comprehensive strategy.
