The Mobile Telephone Network (MTN), a South Africa-based multinational mobile telecommunications company, has started putting strange measures in place at the industry level to disable phones and devices that are used for fraudulent activities in the country.
MTN, the seventh (7th) largest mobile network operator in the world, and the largest in Africa is delivering better services for customers to communicate effectively with people from all over the world.
Madam Georgina Asare Fiagbenu, the Head of Corporate Communications at MTN Ghana has warned subscribers to be vigilant with the recent increase of fraudulent actions.
Madam Georgina Fiagbenu stated that MTN is aimed to accelerate growth by building the largest and most valuable platform businesses and drive industry leading connectivity operations in the country.
Addressing the press at the MTN Media and Stakeholders Engagement in the Eastern region, Madam Georgina Fiagbenu urged road constructors especially in Ghana to be cautious about MTN Fiber which are laid underground to provide high-speed internet to subscribers.
She explained that the media engagement was to advocate for MTN activities, share information and respond to the feedbacks by the customers in the region.
Madam Georgina Fiagbenu stated that fibers help MTN to speed up its mandate for better service delivery in the country.
Madam Georgina Fiagbenu advised road constructors to seek permission from the district assemblies before commencing roads projects to help prevent Faber cate.
Touching on the corporate social investments, Madam Georgina Fiagbenu averred that the MTN have undertaken one hundred and fifty-nine (159) projects as an effort to give back to the communities adding that they have spent ninety-three (93) million on the projects.
With the MTN Ghana Foundation initiatives, Madam Georgina Fiagbenu said that the Foundation has three focus areas which includes health, education and economic empowerment.
She added that the foundation is set up as a separate legal entity with its own independent Board of Directors and Patrons who oversee the operations of the foundation.
She said that the mission of the foundation is to improve the quality of lives of people through appropriate and sustainable corporate social responsibility interventions in communities where MTN operates.
Madam Georgina Fiagbenu has awarded scholarships to over 1400 students to further their education at the various universities in the country.
She warned customers to be vigilant with the higher number of MOMO fraudsters.
