Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III, the Omanhene of New Juaben, took a proactive stance on Tuesday morning as he was seen at Ayah junction in front of MAF Preparatory school enforcing road safety regulations, particularly regarding “no stopping” and “no parking.”
The frontage of MAF Preparatory school, located at a sharp curve from Ayah Junction, connecting Srodae and the central business district of Koforidua, has become a hotspot for driver indiscipline, especially during the morning hours. Parents and drivers often wrongfully stop and park on the roadside to drop off their children, leading to traffic congestion.
Omanhene Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III has reportedly cautioned drivers on multiple occasions to refrain from stopping and parking on the road and instead urged them to enter the school’s premises. However, drivers continued to flout these “no stopping” and “no parking” regulations, prompting the Omanhene to take personal action this morning.
He is said to have tapped on the bonnets of some of the defiant drivers to get them to move.
The Omanhene’s hands-on approach to enforcing these regulations garnered the support of many passersby, who applauded his dedication to maintaining discipline in New Juaben.
