An 81 year-old woman Juliana Akua Kyerew Debrah, a retired teacher has lost her life following deadly attack by swarm of bees in Koforidua.
The unfortunate incident occured in the vicinity of Apenteng Hall under Debrekrom Electoral Area in the center of the township.
According to sources, the bees, believed to have been disturbed in their hives on a building, launched a sudden and aggressive attack.
Individuals in the vicinity suffered multiple stings as the swarm chased some young men who sought refuge in a house where Akua Kyerew was peacefully sitting outside.
The bees swarmed around her face, unleashrd severe stings that left her unconscious.
Recognizing the severity of the attack, her son, Fiifi, rushed her to the Eastern Regional Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Despite efforts to save her, the elderly woman succumbed to the injuries and shock sustained during the bee assault, tragically passing away a few days later.
Son of the deceased retired teacher, Fiifi told Bryt FM news, the family is now in mourning and grappling with the unexpected loss of their mother.
