The Dormaa Traditional Council spearheaded by Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, the Omanhene of Dormaa Traditional Council who doubles as President of the Bono regional House of Chiefs and his elders have over the years ensured the maintenance of a hygienic environment in Dormaa Ahenkro and its surrounding communities to prevent filth-induced ailment from the area.
Osagyefo Dr. Nana Agyemang Badu II and his elders have since moved to all the communities under his jurisdiction to organize a series of communal labor to make sure all members show up to participate in the clean-up exercise to enhance cleanliness and tidiness among the people with the placement of Dustbins at vantage points of Dormaa and it surrounding communities to keep sachet and canned drinkables as well as other waste that comes in polythene bags and other light objects.
With these great efforts by Nananom to improve neatness in the area, a lot of recalcitrants have taken advantage of the dustbins, where all their household refuse is dumped with others defecating in polythene bags and dumping them in the provided bins.
Reacting to this behavior displayed by some people within Dormaa Ahenkro and its enclave, Nana Ansu Gyeabour, Ahenenanaa Adontenhene of Dormaa Traditional Council who coordinates the communal activities of Dormaa Hene indicated that, the leadership of the traditional council shall deal with whoever flout the laws and directions of Nananom in the quest to maintain hygienic environment in Dormaa Ahenkro and its communities.
He said Nananom are keen to ensure the mission and vision of Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II in making Dormaa one of the cleanest cities in Ghana is achieved without any form of distractions from members of the community.
Nana Ansu Gyeabour lamented how people keep dragging back the positive vision of Dormaa Hene which he said will not be entertained this year.
He said his office has formed a monitoring task force that shall be monitoring all dustbins within Dormaa Ahenkro at night and dawn to ensure people who flout the ordinances of Nananom are arrested and brought before the lawcourt for the needed judgment to be passed to serve as a deterrent to others.
