Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum was honored to attend the event hosted by Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, to launch the book titled “History of Ashanti” written by Otumfuo Sir Osei Agyeman Prempeh II on Tuesday 6th February 2024.
The occasion was particularly significant as it also served as the Symposium on the 150th Anniversary of the Sargrenti War.
He was grateful to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for the great honor he gave him to launch the great book.
The book, “History of Ashanti,” offers a comprehensive exploration of the rich heritage and cultural legacy of the Ashanti Kingdom. It delves into the intricate history, traditions, and pivotal events that have shaped the Ashantis over the centuries and further teaches a lot of lessons with regard to commitment and patriotism.
He added “This is a story of a kingdom that has stood the test of time and I am urging various authors of children’s books to rewrite this book in children’s versions so our next generation will begin to know more about the Ashanti Kingdom”.
