As part of ongoing efforts to revamp and ensure a complete overhaul of the system, Minister Gbeme Horace-Kollie paid a courtesy visit to various departments, divisions and units at the Ministry of Gender.
The new Gender Boss indicated that the move was intended to familiarize herself with the current state of affairs of the staff and offices at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP).
Given the task at hand, Minister Horace-Kollie emphasized that she wanted to hear from the employees themselves especially while seated in their separate offices.
During her tour, she had a ‘one-on-one’ chat with supervisors, coordinators, directors and other staff who are directly in charge of coordinating various programs at the ministry.
Though she quizzed a few but the overall objective was for her to have a sense of happenings within the various departments, divisions and units as well as at the projects.
The Gender Boss also had a glimpse of the current record system at the Division of Persistent Non-Support, but expressed dismay over the manner records are managed. She further commended the workforce for the level of sacrifice and urged their continual commitment in giving the best services to the Liberian people.
While on her tour, employees expressed warmest gratitude for the visit to their respective offices as they emphasized the beginning of a new dispensation.
During her confirmation hearing at the Liberian Senate, Madam Horace-Kollie was emphatic that she will not be an ‘air conditioner car or office’ Gender Minister. The new Gender Minister vowed to roll her sleeves and take the ministry to the people.
