The Former Municipal Chief Executive of Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly, Hon. Gordon Asubonteng has laid emphasis on the need to acquire quality education which according to him develops human capacities and capabilities.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmen, The former MCE indicated that the human brain controls the entire human body in the discharge of our daily duties hence education playing a major role in shaping the human brain denotes the importance of education to human beings.
He added that education is the total development of the heart and so unlike the previous years where the intelligence quotient (IQ) was only used to measure the intelligence of students, the emotional Quotient (EQ) has been factored in modern-day education which is geared towards the measurement of one’s emotions which is best controlled by the human heart therefore, offering the best training for the brain with perfect management of Emotions improves effective learning which also develops the confidence, competence, capacity, and character of people hence educated people shouldn’t be engaged in corruption and other corrupt related activities.
Hon. Gordon Asubonteng explained that the issue of examination malpractice has been in existence in Ghana since the introduction of formal education because there are always some lazy students among the serious ones who will try other avenues just to pass examinations despite the efforts of teachers and invigilators to curb the canker.
He bemoaned how we have sacrificed our value and significance for falsehoods where lies and deception have become the order of the day hence the increasing rate of Exam malpractice in our education system.
He therefore charges stakeholders and parents to as a matter of urgency put in measures to ameliorate exam malpractice from our school to help in the development of a better country with brighter future leaders.
