Mavis Opokuaa Ackon, Government nominee has confirmed as the new District Chief Executive (DCE) by assembly members of Asuogyaman district with 51votes representing 92.22:% out of the total votes 53votes.
Addressing the house of Assembly Members, Nananom Chiefs, heads of departments and the security agencies, Hon. Mavis Opokuaa Ackon thanked President Akufo-Addo for such an appointment.
She further expressed her profound gratitude to Assembly members for their overwhelming confirmation knod given to her.
The DCE started that as first ever Female DCE in the history of the Asuogyaman District, she has therefore opened her doors to people who have at heart the interest to develop the district.
She made a humble appeal to the Assembly members to help her achieve good practices of the local government laid down procedures assembly, by laws, respect for each other and to serve the people in the district .
She also called on Assembly members to support her to continue among others the good works of her predecessors with regards to human centered development projects, infrastructures projects, environmental sanitation, health care for the people, agriculture and security.
Meanwhile, Seth kwame Acheapong, the Eastern Regional Minister commended Assembly members for their overwhelming confirmation votes for the newly elected DCE, Hon Mavis Opokuaa Ackon.
He urged Civil servants in the Assembly to stay cordial and work hand in hand with the Assembly Members and seek developments of the Asuogyaman District Assembly must be their hallmark.
“Good practices of the local government laws must be respected and to be apply all times. The interest of the people you serve at down here at your out fit serve also should guide you human face must be factor in the course of serving larger society he ended” he stated.
