As part of its dedication to supporting the development of Ghanaian students, management of Ada College of Education in collaboration with LEC GROUP on Wednesday 21st February 2024, has organized its 17th edition of the 2024 Africa Success Summit, a youth empowerment and leadership seminar for over thousand (1000) made up of level 100 to 300 students of Ada Foah College of Education in the Ada East District of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
The one-day seminar which was under the theme’ THE NEXT LEVEL, that geared towards Achieving ultimate potential, the role of education, mentorship and innovative interventions, aimed at empowering the youth in the areas of leadership, personal development, economic growth, hence to equip teacher trainees in bringing the skills gabs between the classroom, after school and the job market, nevertheless become business oriented and entrepreneurs in the future.
The seminar forms part of a series of leadership conferences lined up by the management of the college, where students join a community of inspiring individuals dedicated to empowering the next generation and also create their own businesses after schooling in the quest to reduce youth unemployment rate negatively impact in the country in sense that when these teacher trainees graduate from school they won’t be burden on the government for posting to their various schools teaching.
The summit zones through exciting educating topics such as mentoring the students through the important of entrepreneurs in socio-economic development of Ghana, Mentorship Programming, How to identify and creative passion, Networking assert, Validation of strategic implementation in relationships Critical thinker among other topics.
The summit features engaging keynote speakers, that includes Professor Prince Boateng, the principal of Ada College of Education, Albert Prempeh Kusi, Executive Director at Success Africa Foundation /CEO of LEC GROUP, Shaukia Yakubu, Director of Special Sales of IBS, Emmanuel Nana Kwasi Mensah, Direct Sale Manager of Ecobank among others to unlock dream potential, foster social connections, and facilitate networking through Digitalisation for success and wealth on the thematic areas for the greater benefit and attainment of a successful and progressive future.
Speaking to a cross section of the media after the summit, the Principal of Ada College of Education, Professor Prince Boateng explained that, conferences of such nature is very essential for students of all colleges in the country, expecially students of Ada College of Education with aim to add value to their academic careers irrespective of teaching profession hence to derive the full potential of their life in the next level ahead of future.
He noted that, Digitalisation and entrepreneurship in socio-economic development of the country is the root base of tertiary institutions in Ghana expecially, for the colleges of education in the country therefore it is very important for the students to access networking and to liaise with industry to conduct applied research that would yield practical benefits for society and also equip teacher trainees to tap their dreams and start creating their own businesses so that after completing school they won’t become burdens to their parents and the government at large.
Professor Prince Boateng encouraged the students of the college to be very hamble, seized the opportunity to learn new skills to develop their academic careers that’s goes beyond the lecture hall, adding that, students must travel as far as ensuring that they add value by educating their respective fields with additional skills to pin their lives aside from teaching jobs, looking at the economic conditions and growth of the world expecially the country and doing these will enhance their standard of living conditions, empower their community and its neighboring towns.
He commended government for the immense contribution towards the school but as Oliver Twist they asked for more in term of infrastructure.
He appealed to government to also support organising such mentorship and entrepreneurship seminar and also putting down the needed tools to organise such activities that will go a long way to help brain wash and unearthing talents within the youth for the next level.
This collaboration, he suggests, is pivotal in meeting the dynamic demands of the economy.
He therefore entreated students to shun away from all kinds of social vices which will not bring any benefits to the lifestyle.
Meanwhile, Director of Success Africa Foundation and chief executive of LEC Group of company limited, Albert Prempeh Kusi speaking with the media in an interview said the goal of the training is to prepare students and the timing youths for self-employment through training and mentoring; enhance their competencies and build their social networks, adding that, Success Africa Summit offering a transformative event filled with heartwarming moments and jaw-dropping insights.
He observed that, It is possible for students to setup their own businesses after schooling and not to rely on government work to get them jobs so that young graduates unemployment rate can be achieved in the country.
According him, Success Africa Foundation, saw the need to come to the Ada College of Education to train the teacher trainees to let them know that they can add value to their lives aside from teaching jobs to enhance their standard of living conditions.
He reiterated that government initiative of industrialization agenda is possible to achieve if most of the students equipped with entrepreneurship.
He said the seminar has over the years empowered and developed several youths in the country through such leadership and personal development lectures.
He said the group will continue to inspire the youth, especially students, to hone their skills through mentorship programs in schools, adding that the group is fully committed to extending the leadership and skills development programs to universities across the country for students to learn from the experiences of distinguished members of the society.”
He advised the students to maintain their push regardless of how strenuous things might get in order to have a fulfilled future.
He entreated students to take advantage of these opportunities to start and run their own businesses and going forward to be able to employed other people after school.
He admonished the students to shun away from all kinds of soccer bet and to take their destiny into their hands because, the time has come for them not to be depending on their parents, guardian friends and loved ones but begin to think about their future in the next level.
On her part, Shaukia Yakubu, Director of Special Sales of IBS Consulting, underscored that, job opportunities in the country are less compared to the timing number of students who graduated every year, therefore the need for a parradan shift where students are looking for they prefer to created and become employees in the near future.
She is of the hope that the massive students in attendance to the summit, will take the learning point sheared but the facilitators, and applied research on it, will help prevent young people graduate unemployment rate after school, adding that, students must have practical action to acquire successes in the future.
She let the news team known that, students have a driven potential dream to support mother Ghana however they should revisit their talent acquisition develop in entrepreneurship to creat businesses to support the government’s efforts to enhance economic growth of the country and not to depend on foreign countries.
Some of the students sheared their views and taught acquired from the summit.
They however expressed gratitude to the administrative leadership of the school led by Professor Prince Boateng for coming up with such a brain wash summit to enlighten them on how to create job opportunities for themselves and become successful in life aside from their teaching profession.
According to them, they were empowered and nurtured with motivation speakers, hence prepared to enter into next level ahead the with Digitalisation and entrepreneurship skills to serve tools for their future development aside from teaching profession.
They said lessons picked from the experiences of the speakers will guide them in their career paths.
Meanwhile, students were given certificate of recognition for participation as a result of hardworking and performing student to achieve mentorship in developing the potentials and entrepreneurship and economics department skills.
