The fix Larteh Roads demonstration which was scheduled to come off today Thursday March 28,2024 has been suspended following a high-level meeting convened by Akuapem North Municipal Security Council.
Executives of the demonstration’s organizing committee convened with key officials including the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Barima Asiedu -Larbi and Divisional Police commander at the Akropong divisional commander’s office to deliberate on the proposed demonstration.
The decision to suspend the demonstration was reached unanimously, taking into account the recent commencement of work by the contractor affiliated with the Road Lobby group.
With work underway, it was deemed necessary to monitor the progress closely rather than proceed with the demonstration at this time.
Assurances have been provided by the MCE that the contractor will continue their efforts over the next six months, aiming to complete the vital stretch from Larteh Junction to Larteh.
This development marks a significant step forward in addressing the longstanding deplorable Akropong to Larteh road issues which has become a bane for commuters for years.
Fred Awuku Labi, Chairman of the Fix Larteh Roads demonstration organizing committee, expressed gratitude towards the leaders of the Road Lobby group for their instrumental role in securing a contractor for the project.
The community now eagerly anticipates the realization of their vision—a first-class road network that ensures safe and smooth travel for all residents.
