Chief Abdulla Mohamed, the Mpasatia Zongohene has applauded the government for listening to the plight of the farmers and increase the cocoa price.
He said the government must as well as adjust the price to meet the world market price.
Whilst addressing the press, he called on the farmers to avoid given their cocoa farms to galamsey operators to spoil it. He said they must begin to take good care of their cocoa farms.
“We are grateful to the government for listening to our long-standing plight. This is in the rightful but I will plead with the COCOBOD to adjust the cocoa price to meet the world market standard”, he stated.
He noted “, I want to take this opportunity to call on the farmers to care good care of their Cocoa farms. They should avoid given them out to the galamsey operators”.
