Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo, Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku, has presented a cheque of GHs 10,000 to the community of Rama-Town to aid in the rehabilitation of the Rama-Town Junction to Rama-Town road.
The donation was made during the culmination of Ramadan prayers in Rama-Town.
The local chiefs and residents expressed gratitude for the MP’s contribution and pledged to work together towards the road’s restoration.
Hon. Ocloo reassured them of her ongoing support and emphasized the commitment of incoming president John Dramani Mahama to address road issues throughout the Shai-Osudoku Constituency.
Government has neglected roads in the Shai Osudoku constituency leading to deterioration of the road.
Doryumu, Kordiabe, Agormeda, Asebi and neighbouring communities in the Shai-Osudoku District in the Greater Accra region last year blocked roads linking these areas to some parts of the region and Eastern region as part of demonstration against deplorable road to their area
These communities warned to seize exploitation of their natural resources if government fails to rehabilitate their roads.
Construction and rehabilitation of roads are primarily responsibility of Central government and district assemblies respectively due to its capital intensive nature.
