A Four-member delegation from Novartis, a drug manufacturing company led by Racey Muchilwa the sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Head of Novartis visited Ghana to meet the NHIA Management.
The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Administration and Human Resources, Dr. Mrs. Yaa Pokuaa Baiden and had other directors of NHIA present.
The discussions centered on present and possible future collaborations between the two institutions.
Of particular interest to the team was the Market Access Programme for Hydroxyurea which has been reimbursed by the NHIS for Sickle Cell Disease Patients since 2022.
The two institutions also agreed on possibilities of future collaborations in Research and Capacity Building.
These initiatives are expected to support and enhance the overall health outcomes of patients.
The Novartis Team included Janine Coetsee, Chief Commercial Officer, SSA; Adeline Edgal, Head, Medical and Partnerships, SSA and Maame Adwoa Asante, Country Manager, Ghana.
