An eight-member delegation from the Chinese Association for International Understanding, paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Mavis Nkansah Boadu (MP) on Wednesday, 8th May, 2024.
The leader of the delegation and the Vice President of the association, H.E. Liu Hongcai, in his remarks, recalled and acknowledged the longstanding diplomatic ties and cooperation between Ghana and China, dating back to the 1950s.
H.E. Hongcai noted that, under the leadership of the current Presidents of the two countries, cooperation between the two sides has deepened and was hopeful that the relations would be further enhanced through people-to-people exchanges and in various areas such as trade, culture, and tourism.
He further stated that China is ready to cooperate with African countries including Ghana to promote economic development.
On her part, Hon. Mavis Nkansah Boadu, commended the Government of China for cooperating with Ghana in various fields which has contributed to the economic growth of the country.
With regards to partnership between the two countries, the Deputy Minister proposed a direct flight from China to Ghana and vice versa to facilitate trade between the two countries.
