Provisions made by the government to feed citizens in lockdown areas are for only the vulnerable, according to the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Cynthia Mamle Morrison.
According to the Agona West constituency legislator, the ministry has categorized the vulnerable into two groups and are been taken care of.
The minister has, however, debunk rumors that the initiative is been done on political affiliations in sharing the food to the public.
She explained that, various stakeholders and politicians are also sharing food with those affected and that people mistakenly see them as food from the government.
Madam Cynthia Morrison revealed the cost per hot meal is reduced from GHc5.00 to GHc4.00 as a result of the extension of the lockdown.
She, therefore, urged beneficiaries to cooperate with authorities assuring them of quality food as caterers have been advised to do so in accordance with the agreement.
There have been several complaints from lockdown areas on how meals are being shared by authorities as most people blame authorities for politicizing the distribution.
Others are also of the view that the food being shared is of poor quality.
