The Movement for Change’s founder and leader, Alan Kyerematen, has unveiled an ambitious proposal called “Operation Own Your Business” that aims to create three million jobs for young people in Ghana.
As a component of his presidential campaign, which ends on December 7, this idea emphasizes enabling recent graduates to start their own businesses.
The main component of Kyerematen’s approach is giving graduates financial help so they can launch their own companies.
He claimed that this program will unleash the potential of young Ghanaians and underlined the vital role that entrepreneurship plays in fostering economic growth and employment creation.
“Empowering our youth to become business owners is essential for the economic future of our nation,” Kyerematen stated.
Apart from offering monetary assistance to startups, Kyerematen suggested that all Senior High School graduates participate in an obligatory training program and apprenticeship.
The goal of this program is to prepare young people for the workforce or for starting their own businesses by providing them with a minimum of six months of training prior to their graduation.
“Our youth need the right skills to succeed in today’s competitive job market, and this training will provide them with a solid foundation,” he said.
In response to worries about national security, Kyerematen promised to provide graduates who choose to enlist in Ghana’s security reserves with free training in the armed forces, police, and security services.
In addition to strengthening national security capabilities, this project offers young individuals interested in public service worthwhile career options.
“By offering this training, we are ensuring that our youth have the opportunity to serve their country while gaining valuable skills,” Kyerematen noted.
