Before you start any probable reflections ofwhat your idea of Ghana is, can you kindly guffaw at the words “I LOVE GHANA”? If you just did then you are a Ghanaianeither at
heart or by birth. I have been following the American Republican Convention which just ended at Milwaukee and observed a singular theme run through all the speeches and it is fact that, there is an idea of America our Yankee compatriots relish and love enough to pronounce at the earliest opportunity given –which is a geographical place of diverse identities melted together to create the finest human experiment of conquest and possibilities.
Honestly, this got me thinking and trailing through history to establish what my Ghana is. Are you aware the current vice president Dr. Bawumiawas once upon a time
a taxi driver in UK? He hustled multiple jobs toget by as a student in another country. For all the promises of greener pastures beyond the shores of this beautiful gold coast, his
greatest responsibility was linked to career platforms given him right here in Ghana.
Today, he stands at the cusp of becoming next president of Ghana and why blame him if he abides in faith and service of possibilities ahead of us all. A gentleman of fine hearth as never been loudest in the room yet with precision he has skilled and supervised elements
of tomorrow’s economy through digitalizing parts of our systems and his personality encapsulates what is possible ahead of us as a nation. He may not be your average political pugilist as we see others rampaging our airwaves daily, yet with competence, he excels in every task given him so far.
Dr Bawumia magnifiesthe Ghanaian story in a fine way that as descendants of ordinary people we can achieve extraordinary things right here in the motherland. My Ghana, Ama Ghana, a place where the soil itself speaks peace and creationrevereits humans as the most courteous you can ever find anywhere
on earth. Truly we are uniquely blessed and enabled to lead a whole continent on matters of peace, justice, and prosperity. Who we are, is distinguished by the hand of the
ALMIGHTY and not pertained to anything studied or adopted. I add my voice to Dr Bawumia’s mantra that our best days are ahead of us and whatever is positively conceived in this land, IT IS POSSIBLE. Just as courage energizes us to prod on,even in the face of adverse economic adversity,so can fear,if allowed to fester, debilitate our staunch resilience. I warn the pessimists to leave us alone, we are a nation on the
ascent, and nothing will stop us again! With Dr Bawumia firmly on the wheels, if you think Russia is where you will lunch memoirs into the world, then leave us alone to experience the blessings of “God bless our homeland Ghana and make us great and
strong.”GOD’smagnificent providence has afforded us this lovely geography to habituate, be fruitful and act as His worthy viceroy to preserve what our ancestors left us.
Shame on you if you want to sell us out per your parochial agenda; you are not Ghanaian!
As evident by Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s life, where we start life does not decidewhere we end. Our Ghanaian rain of peace, courtesy will never stop, we will charge on! Irrespective of the present economic uneasiness, with Dr Bawumia, it is possible to be a developed nation, digitalize our economy, and create 1 million countable jobs in digitalization during his first tenure as a president.
Conclusion
Never has an election mattered so much in the history of this country. Ghanaians are faced with a choice of new vs old, progression vs retrogression. Have you wondered why in the greatest adversity that confronted the children of GOD in ancient times, sandwiched between the red sea and galloping chase down by the armies of Egypt, the
instruction that came down from above was to charge on. Stagnation is proceeded by drowning, and miracles only occur when there is progression. Going back is abhorrent and frowned on even by Heaven, we must not go back, no matter how bad it is or has
become our present situation. The friendly heavenly advice has always been to proceed and keep moving. Today, I also choose to move and follow Dr Bawumia with a march
towards possibilities. We may not be exact us to our expectations of the future, but we know who holds the future, HE is same who gave us this prosperous land, where HE hid
the biggest reserve of gold on earth.Just as we began with a thought-provoking exercise,
let us conclude with another. Have you ever compared Ghana’smodest size on the world map to other nations and wondered why, despite our small land area, we are blessed with the largest gold reserves on Earth? It is something to ponder. On this golden note, I can proudly say, “Iprefer gold to silver!”and I LOVE GHANA!!!
