On August 7, 2024, deputy Lands and Natural Resources, George Mireku-Duker chaired the Newmont-Dokyikrom Resettlement and Compensation Committee Meeting on behalf of the Sector Minister and the President of the Republic at Tang Palace, Accra.
According to him, a significant milestone have been reached, bringing to an end, a period of fracass between Dokyikrom residents and Newmont Ahafo South Mine, which has affected the operations of the latter recently.
He, however, indicated the Landmark resolutions will be communicated to the general public soon.
In attendance were the Ahafo Regional Minister, Asutifi North DCE, Dokyikrom Chiefs, Advisor on Mines, Newmont Officials, and others.
