The Minister for Information, Honourable Fatimatu Abubakar has reminded all that information is the lifeblood of democracy and the bridge between Governments and the governed.
She made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the just ended two-day Global Conference on International Day for Universal Access to Information (IDUAI) in Accra today.
Over the past two days, participants across the world have explored various means to access information and strengthen citizen engagement as well as foster sustainable development and social accountability.
Hon. Abubakar expressed her gratitude to UNESCO, the Right to Information Commission, civil society, media partners, and everyone who made the conference a success.
She was optimistic of a future where access to information will serve as the foundation for a more inclusive, resilient, and empowered society.
