Former deputy of Defense Major (RTD) Derrick Oduro has commended government for it’s enhanced approach in dealing with the issue of illegal mining in the country.
He said the current approach by the government in using the military to flush out perpetrators of these activities is what Ghanaians have been expecting.
The former Nkoranza North lawmaker made these observations when speaking to Kwamina Sam Biney on BRYT Adekyee Mu Nsem on the new strategy adopted after unsuccessful one some months ago.
Major (RTD) Derrick Oduro was worried about the politicisation of the menace of illegal mining popularly known as galamsey as that has made it difficult for government to deal with the issue holistically.
He called on Ghanaians to support the fight against the activities of illegal mining in order to deal with the consequences awaiting the country in the coming years.
