Firefighters from the Suhum Fire Station swiftly responded to a fire outbreak at the Star of Suhum (S.O.S) School in the Suhum Municipality on Tuesday morning, saving the school from potential disaster.
The fire station received a distress call at 10:09 a.m., reporting the blaze.
A fire team were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival at 10:14 a.m., the team found the school’s generator engulfed in flames in one of the rooms.
Firefighters quickly deployed their equipment and managed to bring the fire under control within three minutes.
The blaze was fully extinguished by 10:22 a.m., preventing it from spreading to nearby buildings.
While the generator was completely destroyed, the prompt action of the firefighters helped avert further damage to the school premises.
Pupils and teachers were traumatized during the initial stages of the fire as they were evacuated until the fire was brought under control.
