MTN Ghana Foundation has donated two interactive boards and 10 laptops to the Eastern Regional hospital to enhance training, teaching, and patient care.
The team, which was led by the Senior Manager for MTN Ghana Foundation, Robert Kuzoe, reveled they are looking forward to some digital initiatives to help some institutions, hence their coming to the Eastern Regional hospital.
He made this assertion during an interview with Bryt fm news reporter Mujahida Mohammed.
According to him, the hospital has been elevated and was optimistic the equipment will facilitate training and teaching, allowing for better patient care.
“These are some of the services we offer, including digital technology to hospitals and educational organizations. MTN Ghana Foundation has three focus areas: health, education, and economic empowerment, with the goal of facilitating digital initiatives in healthcare. Every work we do must fall into one of these three categories, so we will continue to build maternity blocks and provide more equipment, but this year we will provide more digital equipment.” He stated.
He added the gesture is to help improve training and teaching for healthcare professionals, enhance patient care through efficient diagnosis and treatment and also to reduce waiting time for test results .
Mary Amponsah-Kwatiah, the Administrator of the Eastern Regional hospital who recieved the items on behalf of the facility heaped praised on MTN Foundation for its timely donation.
She also emphasized that, the donation will go a long way to augment their services because every department in the hospital uses computers, laptops or tablets.
“We appreciate MTN Foundation’s kindness and look forward to continue supporting us. This foundation will help Ghana’s health service to be able to take very good care of their patients so that more patients can come to them when they need help “.
“The equipment has come at the right time because some years ago, Ghana collage lifted them to teach any doctor who want to do specialization so now there won’t be the need for anyone to travel to a different place because they have supervisors to supervise them as well and all the equipment needed . The hospital appeals to other organizations to support their needs, including a new static X-Ray Machine” She added
